Joanna Amador is a public affairs strategist and lawyer.  In the course of her career she has served as a prominent and well-known manager of significant, high-profile public and private projects. These have included major infrastructure projects with various city, state, and federal agencies throughout California. Her public agency engagements have included the City of Los Angeles (including the Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project), the Pasadena Unified School District, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the Central Basin Municipal Water District. For the latter agency, she administered the Southeast Water Reliability Project Central Basin Municipal Water District, where she managed, facilitated, and coordinated all day-to-day activities for the construction of a recycled water pipeline in Montebello, Pico Rivera, and unincorporated areas of Whittier.

She is also an experienced lawyer equally at home in the courtroom and in the boardroom, her diverse background making her nearly unique—and uniquely-valuable—when counseling boards of directors and senior management. Her legal and advisory experience spans a wide range of challenges in business, government, and public affairs. As a lawyer, she has assisted public and private clients in meeting local, state, and federal compliance requirements in matters ranging from organizational governance, to local reporting mandates, to resolution of disputes in both the courts and administrative law forums. She has served as in-house general counsel and business advisor to a well-known Los Angeles public affairs firm and has represented the clients of a public-interest law firm. Ms. Amador graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law.
